In collaboration with ePLDT and PLDT Enterprise, CCBPI recently organized a cybersecurity session on the “Philippine Threat Landscape” to enable its employees to better understand the crucial role they play in cybersecurity defense.
Inviting PLDT, represented by Alexis Bernardino, Field CISO and Head of Enterprise Consulting Practice of ePLDT and PLDT Enterprise, was a strategic move by CCBPI to leverage the Group’s expertise and experience in the field. “We recognize that the PLDT Group is committed to ensuring that its clients and customers are abreast with global cybersecurity practices and that its experts are respected practitioners in the industry. We are confident that we can learn from PLDT’s expertise and our employees can be inspired by how PLDT can protect ordinary citizens and small businesses from cyberattacks,” said Jay Robielos, Cybersecurity Head of CCBPI.
According to Bernardino, empowering employees to be a 'Human Firewall' is crucial. “Both CCBPI and ePLDT know the importance of training employees to spot and respond to threats, helping us collectively withstand cyberattacks."
“Being the leader in the beverage industry, we owe it to our customers, stakeholders, and our employees to be cyber secure to reduce the risk of business disruption,” said Robielos. “On a macro level, CCBPI provides livelihood to a million small businesses, including sari-sari stores, wholesalers, and distributors, as well as opportunities for our partners which help in nation-building. There are only two jobs in CCBPI, to sell or to help sell. Keeping the environment secure is our best contribution to ensure the sell function is protected and not interrupted.”
