Smart Expands Offerings on KKday for Customer Convenience

Millions of KKday users will now be able to access PLDT wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart)’s products and connect to its reliable 5G network when they visit the Philippines.

Through the partnership of Smart and one of Asia’s top travel e-commerce platforms KKday, tourists visiting the Philippines will now be able to conveniently purchase Smart 5G SIMs, eSIMs, or Tourist SIMs ahead of time, enabling them to plan their travel more efficiently.

"This highlights our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional digital services in welcoming overseas visitors to the Philippines. Our goal is to elevate their experience and firmly establish the country as a premier global tourist destination,” said PLDT and Smart SVP and Head of Sales and Development John Y. Palanca.

“Our partnership with Smart allows us to provide more telco services to our millions of active users and enrich their tourist experience when they decide to visit the Philippines either for business or vacation,” said Mr. Hans Tegjeu, KKday Country Manager for Malaysia and the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Smart’s key partnership with Newport [Advantage Product’s Corporation] and KKDay will enable travelers who purchase their Smart SIMs online via the KKday app or website to pick up physical SIMs and carded e-SIMs in the designated Smart booths in all arrival terminals at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) soon.

“This new partnership will enable us to expand our market and deliver world-class mobile and 5G services to KKday users who plan to travel to the Philippines, and at the same time, add to the ever-growing list of credible brands in our partners’ portfolio,” said Consumer Sales VP and Head of Key Accounts at PLDT and Smart Chito M. Franco.

Smart and TNT eSIMs are powered by Smart's mobile network, which was recently recognized for delivering the Philippines' Best 5G Coverage Experience, according to the latest report by independent analytics firm Opensignal. Smart's mobile network covers 97% of the population and is part of the Philippines’ largest integrated network that includes PLDT’s 1.1 million kilometer fiber infrastructure.

Smart's initiatives to deliver innovative mobile products and services are aligned with the PLDT Group’s endeavors to narrow the digital divide and provide connectivity to all, supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) particularly on SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. These also reinforce the Group’s support for the Government's overall digitalization thrust.
