Leading integrated telco network, PLDT Inc (PLDT), together with its B2B arm PLDT Enterprise and its wireless subsidiary Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), are urging Smart Satellite (SmartSAT) prepaid SIM card subscribers to register their SIMs before the deadline on July 25, 2023, to ensure uninterrupted service.
In accordance with the SIM Registration Act, Mitch Locsin, First Vice President and Head of Enterprise and International Business Groups of PLDT and Smart emphasized the importance of registering SmartSAT SIMs. Failure to register will result in the deactivation of unregistered satellite SIMs after the government's set deadline.
To register, individual subscribers and authorized representatives of companies must complete the appropriate Smart SAT Registration form for Individual or Corporate accounts and submit a scanned and signed copy to smartsatsimreg@smart.com.ph.
Individual customers should also provide a scanned copy of a valid Government-Issued ID and a selfie photo, while private companies need to submit their certificate of registration, a valid ID of the authorized signatory, and a secretary's certificate or special power of attorney designating the authorized signatory.
Government agencies must provide their certificate of registration with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) or BIR Form 2303, a valid ID of the authorized signatory, and a Department or Office Order, or similar document signed by the head of the government entity, designating the authorized representative(s) for official SIM registration.
After successful registration, an email containing the SIM Registration Certificate Number will be sent to confirm the process.
All SIM users, including Smart Enterprise Postpaid Plans, Smart Enterprise Extension Postpaid Lines, PLDT Fixed Wireless Services with SIM component, and Smart Satellite devices and SIMs, are required to register their SIMs in compliance with Republic Act No. 11934, also known as the Subscriber Identity Module Registration Act.
