Global Telehealth, Inc. Chief Operating Officer Cholo Tagaysay expressed his excitement about extending much-needed telemedicine support and reiterated the convenience that the KonsultaMD app brings. “Telehealth is more relevant now more than ever. Now, our driver-partners and small business owners can easily access the right medical attention and stay healthy as they continue to serve our kababayans during these difficult times.”The partnership between Grab and KonsultaMD will help cover the health needs of Grab’s community of drivers, which is especially critical during this challenging time. FREE ONLINE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE TO THE GRAB COMMUNITY
Following the suspension of GrabCar service during the Enhanced Community Quarantine, Lorenzo Miranda, a 50-year old driver-partner, shared how he has prioritized his health since the start of the pandemic. “Humina po talaga yung income bilang Grab driver [especially nung nagkapandemic and lockdown] kaya malaking tulong po sa amin kung mabigyan kami ng libreng pagkonsulta sa mga doktor,” he said.
As someone who continues to serve the public during the pandemic, Miranda shared how convenient and safe it is to be able to take advantage of telemedicine consultations rather than attend face-to-face check-ups. He found the process within the telehealth app to be easy and found the service has lessened the worries of driver-partners amid a pandemic and ensured safer journeys for passengers. “Mas confident ako na yung pasahero ko safe na maihahatid sa kanilang destination na walang inaalala kasi nakakapagpa-check up ako online,” he beams.
Miranda experienced chest pain and difficulty breathing earlier this year and was concerned about a heart problem leading to road accidents. Knowing that he has a responsibility to his passengers, he used the free teleconsultations to diagnose his health concern early and recover from it. “Instead na ibayad ko yung pagpapa-consult, nai-save pa yun para sa pandagdag ng budget ng aking pamilya.” he added.
As one of the hundreds of driver-partners who have already benefited from the program, GrabCar driver-partner Lorenzo Miranda has been extremely grateful for the support from Grab and KonsultaMD and appreciates that Grab is looking after the medical needs of its community and their dependents. “Sana po magpatuloy pa ang partnership na ito at mag-expand pa at marami pang matulungan, hindi lang po kaming mga Grab driver at mga members ng family.” he ended.
With one click in the app, driver- and delivery-partners can get access to the telehealth app. Additionally, eligible family members of Grab driver- and delivery-partners can be listed as beneficiaries and can take advantage of the same offerings from KonsultaMD.
Social sellers and members of Grab’s Madiskarteng Boss Club program will receive the same services by the second quarter of 2021.
Running until January 2, 2022, Grab’s driver-partners and delivery partners will have access to KonsultaMD’s free online medical consultation. They can use it 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and as many times as they need. Users can also request e-prescriptions such as e-laboratory requests, proper medication, and e-certificates, as long as they are included in the list of available specialties in general medicine.
