Globe, in partnership with Microsoft held an E-skwela Partner-Led Learning Session on January 22, 2021. Entitled Office 365 for Education: Learning Essentials for 21st Century Educators, the webinar was an online effort of Globe and Microsoft to help partners in the academe be informed and gain access to tools that would provide a quality learning experience to their students.
The webinar shed light on the current difficulties and challenges faced by educators and learners—one of which is the change of mindset and attitudes of learners due to the absence of face-to-face interaction. Mark Arthur Abalos, Segment Head for Education of One Globe Education, mentioned that virtual classes have caused a noticeable shift in student behavior. And as such, Globe is committed to helping educators understand and adjust to these changes.
Fides Ricasa, Microsoft Chief Partner Officer of Microsoft Philippines, has pointed out that the partnership with Globe has helped in providing tools that would enable educators and students to efficiently adapt to the new way of education.
Adapting these tools requires effective training. In his segment of the webinar, Roland Ruben, Training and Support Supervisor at Center for Innovative Learning Programs of De La Salle University - Dasmarinas, emphasized the importance of training educators on how to use these digital technologies, alongside the physical equipment they use for teaching.
Paolo Balinas, Enterprise Manager for Education of Microsoft Philippines, stressed during the E-skwela partner Led Session, the importance of the four pillars in education to move forward and rise above today’s environment. These four are Leadership and Policy, Modern Teaching and Learning, Intelligent Environment, and Technology Blueprint —all of which Globe and Microsoft continue to provide to help institutions across the country.
The pandemic has indeed caused a sudden shift in the way things work in the education industry. It has pushed institutions to enhance what they have used in the past and to innovate with the use of new technology. In this situation, Globe and Microsoft are partners of the educational system in providing the proper tools, training, and strategies.
Globe remains committed to helping Philippine educational institutions adjust, adapt, and rise above new challenges —as education remains a vital pillar in the development of this nation.
Speakers included Segment Head for Education of One Globe Education, Mark Arthur Abalos; Microsoft Chief Partner Officer of Microsoft Philippines, Fides Amor Ricasa; Training and Support Supervisor at Center for Innovative Learning Programs of De La Salle University - Dasmarinas, Roland Lorenzo Ruben; and Enterprise Manager for Education of Microsoft Philippines, Paolo Balinas.
