To thank their loyal and ever growing readers, Otaku Asia Magazine’s annual event, O-kun Fiesta is back for a third time.
Scheduled for May 14, Sunday at SM Megatrade Hall 3, 5th Level, Mega B, SM Megamall, this year’s, O-kun Fiesta is themed Hina Festival to celebrate the growth of the community, the magazine’s readership and Flores de Mayo; staying true to their promise of promoting locality.
O-kun Fiesta’s pride, Cosplay Parade is the only cosplay competition in the Philippines that focuses on the “-play” in ‘cosplay’. With only 10% grade for costume, the competition aims to bring back why we cosplay: to pretend and BE the character; while also accepting costumes that are self made, bought, crafted or made-to-order. This year, participants will parade around Mega A and B! The grand winner will get P 10,000 worth of prizes.
Again and Again, the Karaoke Contest of O-kun Fiesta was popular for the throwback choice of music and the song, Again. This year, contestants will be given choice of songs randomly upon registration. Participants can prepare for their song before the contest time. Contest is sponsored by Unmei Nihongo Center and will be giving full scholarship to the winner.
Otaku Asia is a lifestyle magazine and it makes sense that their event will also have similar content: with tutorials, lectures and panels, O-kun Fiesta is a fiesta of knowledge as we take fanartist surfaçage, cosplayer and crafter Lyron Aquino and otaku media blogger, Christian Mack to the stage. Introducing and promoting local talents and artists remains the goal of O-kun Fiesta.
O-kun Fiesta remains as a giving-back event and therefore, they would want their readers to be able to join them. The ticket price, Php150, is one of the lowest for Metro Manila otaku events and we also offer pre selling price of Php120 available at PSICOM Office and through meet ups announced on their Facebook Event Page.
