K'Yan: A New Form Of Teaching Using Technology

Max's Glorietta, Makati -- K'Yan, a new form of technology has been unveiled in the Philippines for the first time, with the help of its Philippine Distributor -- VDI, the Indian made technology has a very promising design and is packed with an AIO (All - In - One ) Technology. The K'Yan is a projector with a built-in CPU on it, and also has Windows 8.1 OS running it to make sure the smoothness and interoperability of it.

The K'Yan is very much applicable to institutions in which the people using it will fully maximize its capabilities. According to the speaker from India, "K'Yan is used by many schools in India to able to teach and interact with the students through the presentation being projected by the K'Yan"

Knowledge-Yan, popularly known as K-Yan, is an integrated community computer that functions as a computer, projector, and television. K-Yan was developed in a collaboration between IL&FS Education and Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. The product was created to provide a solution to classrooms that suffered from having too few computers to share effectively among students. K-Yan allows teachers to interactively display information to a whole class.
The K-Yan has several features that enables it to facilitate effective use of technology in the classroom in group settings. It can be used to surf and download educational material from the internet, and can be used as a large screen television to view educational programs and videos. The K-Yan has a built-in DVD/CD writing tool that can be used to share resources such as teacher lesson plans. Built-in web cameras and microphones allow the K-Yan to be used to facilitate distance learning and interaction across communities, irregardless of geographic distance. The K-Yan can also be used as a server, which reduces the cost of establishing PC-based learning centers in schools. It can simultaneously be used as a computer, thereby improving overall operational and administrative efficiencies within schools.
K-Yan supports learning in English and 18 local languages and comes pre-programmed with educational curriculum and provides and immersive teaching-learning platform for students and teachers.
In addition to schools, K-Yans are used in corporate and government offices, training centers, and hospitals.
